Select the Stone
Every custom design begins with the centerpiece. Whether you are searching for the perfect diamond, a vibrant colored gemstone, or reimagining a stone you already own, our experts will guide you through the selection process. With access to our Gem Lab and an extensive inventory of exceptional diamonds and rare gemstones, we help you choose the ideal stone based on beauty, quality, and your vision.
Design Your Setting
Once your gemstone has been selected, our in house design team begins bringing your vision to life. Explore our Design Gallery for inspiration or collaborate with our designers to create something entirely original. From classic solitaires to intricate heirloom inspired designs, every detail is thoughtfully tailored to your style and crafted with exceptional attention to detail.
Review, Refine, Approve
Once your design is complete, you will receive a detailed 3D CAD rendering and a life size wax model to review before production begins. This allows you to see the proportions, refine any details, and ensure every element is exactly as you envisioned. Up to this point, there is no financial obligation. Once you have approved the final design, a 50% deposit begins the creation of your custom piece, which is then expertly handcrafted by our artisans. For select appointments that require additional privacy and a more personalized setting, the Atelier by Underwoods provides an intimate space located above our showroom floor. This dedicated design studio allows clients to review fine jewelry, explore design concepts, and discuss their ideas in a comfortable and discreet environment. Whether reviewing a private collection of pieces or refining a highly personalized creation, the Atelier offers an elevated experience tailored to the nature of each appointment.

Lifetime Guarantee of Investment
Every major diamond purchased from Underwoods is backed by our Lifetime Guarantee of Investment. When you’re ready to upgrade, you can apply up to 100% of your original purchase price toward a new diamond priced at least twice as much. For diamonds below that threshold, trade-in value is capped at 50% of the new diamond’s price.
Certified Appraisal & Insurance Quote
Once your piece is complete, we’ll mail you a certified appraisal with the documentation needed to insure it. We’ll also email a quote from Jewelers Mutual so you can arrange coverage right away.
